Worcester Columbus Day Parade
Vendor information

Dear Vendor(s):

This is a notification from the Worcester Columbus Day Parade Committee in accordance with the City of Worcester’s (Ordinance 10, Sect. 8A, “Special License for Temporary Charitable Events”) with regard to all vendors, hawkers, and peddlers selling ware or food at a charitable event.  This ordinance gives special events such as our parade, an opportunity to gain some monetary benefit from the sale of novelties and food at the event.  This is an important revenue source which is needed to help pay for the parade.  A special license is issued by the Worcester Chief of Police to the charitable organization.  The organization then issues a special one-day license to the hawker, vendors and peddlers.  In order to qualify for this permit you must be fully licensed by the State of Massachusetts with a Hawkers and Peddlers License and the Worcester Dept. of Health, if you are a food vendor.  Proof of licenses must be shown to the parade representative.

We would prefer that you paid for your permit in advance.  Enclosed is an application form, to completed and signed, and return with payment of $50.00.  The license will be available for pick-up ONLY on the morning of the parade between 10 am and 11:30 am. A vendor station will be setup in front of Gentile’s Service Station on Shrewsbury Street, across from East Park.  Licenses are available on the day of the parade cash only                       NO REFUNDS

Please note that the fee for a license is per novelty sellers or food truck operator, If a vendor has more than one station, then more than one license is required.

Please note:.........Two items are BANNED by city ordinance from sale:

1.Silly String
2.Poppers or Snappers and anything like them......they disturb the equestrian units
They are subject to confiscation

Thank you for your cooperation
